Geroba Corten steel mailboxes
A letterbox made of Corten steel is alloy steel that has corrosion-resistant properties due to the addition of copper, chromium and nickel. This alloy, a dense barrier layer of adhesive sulfates and phosphates, protects the steel so that no further corrosion occurs. Exposed to the weather, this material begins to unfold a life of its own. The colors change and create new images.
The steel gets a rust-shaped oxidation layer. It provides protection against further rusting.
